I hit my first hole in one on the signature hole at Lake Jonesco Golf Course. Signature hole you ask? Short par three that is all carry over water. Hole 14 was playing at a full 108 yards on 7/30/2022. Out of the bag came the ole 52 degree Vokey wedge, of which I would need to catch all of it. Well, I struck it pure. The ball was headed straight for the pin but there was no chatter of getting “in the hole” because we didn’t know if it would clear the water. The ball took one bounce and then released (yes, rock hard greens), rolling just a few feet before it was no longer in sight! I said “hole in one” in disbelief, my playing partner asked “did that go in?” also in disbelief. We have been so close but never this. I started to jog down the cart path to confirm the ball was not behind the pin and it wasn’t! Hole in one! Since the hole was only 108 yards and I had already started down the path, I didn’t turn around, I continued to jog to the green with wedge in hand. A moment of our exhilaration!
