Perfect day in the highlands of Scotland. We come to the 16th hole, a beautiful par 3 playing downwind 167 yards. Caddy tells me to hit 150 yard shot to left edge of the green and that it will kick right hard. I hit a perfect 8 iron with a slight fade that landed exactly where he told me. The ball kicked big time right and we thought it went over the green because we couldn't see it. My partners both hit terrific shots, one seemingly going right by the pin. As we got off the tee we looked to our left and there were 2 guys walking down the fairway on another hole. They were clapping and yelling. We thought they were applauding my buddy's shot but we found out later in the bar that they were clapping for me because they saw my shot clang off the pin and go in. When we got to the green both my partners' balls were off the back and I thought my ball was in the bushes way over. We couldn't find it... then the caddy walks up to the hole, looks in and say's "it's in the hole"... wow... my 9th hole in one, but first on a world's top 100. What a thrill.
