At Springhaven, we had been without our beloved hole #16 for a full year as it was completely renovated with new traps and restructured gradient. It finally reopened on June 1, 2022. On July 8 I was playing with my 15 year old son Davis and his buddy Matt, each of whom teed off before me and hit fantastic shots within 10-20 feet of the hole. I was last on the tee box, hit about the most perfect 8 iron I can hit with a slight fade right at the hole. It bounced gradually twice after landing 10 feet before the hole, then rolled directly to the cup, hit the pin and instantly IN! We had a perfect view of the shot all the way in. My son and his buddy went wild and a separate group from the nearby 13th green also witnessed and came over to join the celebration. I've been waiting over 40 years for this one! It was also the first Ace on our course's new version of hole #16. I highly recommend the experience, such a blast and to be honest I'm still geeked out by the entire affair.
