My 7th career hole-in-one happened at a tournament with three clubs participating and 40-something players. There was a closest-to-the-pin competition at each of the par-3 holes. Another member of my club had a tap-in birdie on the 170-yard eighth hole, and was certain he was going to be the winner. He was not pleased when, in the second-to-last group to play the hole, I aced it. Back in the clubhouse, when awards were presented, he made a creative argument that he should share in the prize. I told him I'd be happy to give him half of the sleeves of Titleists I received if he would pay half the bar bill. That quieted him quickly.
