I was playing in the Tomline Cup at Felixstowe Ferry GC which is one of the longest running competitions in the club first introduced in 1881. I was playing some of the best golf of my life and looking good to shoot level par for the very first time. Unfortunately I made bogey on 13 and 14 to put me 2 over par. I then made a great up and down par on 15. 16th hole is a 204 yard par 3 from the white tee. I hit a 5 iron on a good line in up the left as the green feeds in from there. I knew it would be close but unfortunately could not see it go in. Luckily the group in front on the 17th tee see my ball land on the green and roll up Into the hole! This put me back to level par for the round and gave me the confidence to par 17th and finally make birdie on 18 to finish 1 under par for the very first time in over 30 years of playing golf. 47 points was enough to win the Tomline Cup to top off a wonderful day.
