I stepped onto the tee, braving 25-35mph winds at my face. Do I club down once? Twice? I decide 2 down should work. I have 2 ponds in front of me and an ocean of white caps to my left. I'm thinking "Is this enough?" while I address the ball. Like I've done for 52 years, since my Father first put a club in my hands, I whisper "low hands, low hands". A nice slow swing, follow up high...I stare at the ball's flight. It's dead straight to the pin and it lands just below it. It passes the cup, which is placed at the base of a downward hill, and stops about 4' after it. Then the magic happens. The 2 women I was playing with said "hey...it's coming back!". With each rotation back, our excitement was mounting. "Oh, my God", "Oh, my God"....back and forth until......the ball disappears...into the cup. After screaming like little school girls for 5 minutes, we, briskly, walk to the 9th. Our club pro & assistant, with cameras in hand, document my first hole in one.
