Woke up feeling a bit under the weather, but decided to play in the tournament regardless, since I had already committed to my 4-man scramble team and our tournament commissioner that I'd be there. After a rough start to my round, I began feeling some good control of my shots by hole 4. My stock shot shape tends to be a draw and by hole 7 it was feeling pretty dialed in. Stepped up to the 8th tee, a par 3, 157 yards out with the wind blowing slightly from left to right. We decided I should try to hit a knockdown draw to hold the breeze a bit. Hit the shot I wanted and we hear it hit the flag stick, but with the shadow from the pin, we couldn't tell if it went in or had just jumped off the pin and was 20 yards off the green. The team began to sprint to the hole as I walked behind them with doubt in my mind, but as my first team member got to the hole and began hooping and hollering, I knew I had just made my first hole in one. Colbert Hills Golf Course, 8th tee, Par 3, 157 yds, 8-iron, Titleist AVX Yellow.
