Monday, September 5th, 2022, 8:00 AM Teetime at Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, Maryland, my favorite course, with plenty of slope and lighting greens. I played with my regular golf hubby, Brian, and a local course pro and friend, Tim. In recent years, I have been present for three aces, and I have so salivated for that moment, which until now, remained elusive, despite my many efforts! I play to a 9 handicap and card upwards of 70 rounds per year, with a few near misses! On this day, hole 8 was 155 yards, a bit uphill to a front pin position, directly in front of a huge slope, repelling balls to the front or off the green entirely. I hit a 7 iron on the screws to a few yards past the pin and watched it hit, and spin back down the slope toward the hole.... slowly, slowly.... and then it disappeared into the bottom of the cup... pandamonium, excitement relief, disbelief.... I cried like a little girl, and I'm not sorry! What a day I'll never forget!
