After 18 months of golf the big day finally happened. It’s was a warm Southern California day at Welks resort and golf. Perfect blue skies and a light breeze, I approached the 16th hole like I’d done 100 times before. Reaching for my 56 I took a breath and looked out onto the range. The hole was farther away than usual, the course groomers must have recently moved the tees back to regrow the grass. I switched to a pitching wedge and took my stance. Only using a half swing, I thought to myself “please go straight” and straight it went. Straight to the green it came screaming in ripping a divot far into the earth. The ball wasn’t done though, up it pops taking a 90 degree turn straight into the cup! I stared in disbelief as my ball disappeared from view. My wife starts screaming “you got a hole a one!!” She jumps into the cart and yells “let’s go!” Driving like a mad women she pulls onto the green. Flying out with her camera she starts snapping away like a paparazzi. Cementing the moment for all times. What-A-Day
