I just started helping out with a local girls high school golf team for their season and after our high school team photo shoot Coach Ken took me out on the course for a quick 9 holes. We get to Hole 6 Par 4 226 yards blue tee box. It’s a blind shot to green with trees to the right and a creek to hit over. The left bunkers are visible from the distance. I set up to the left of the tee box with my 3 wood in hand. I hit the draw I was hoping for and figure it’s probably on the green for a chance at Eagle. Coach Ken then hits a high fade over the trees to the right. As we walk up we see one ball on the green about 15-20 feet away thinking it’s my ball. We glance left of the green in search of Ken’s ball. However, as I reach the ball on the green I realize it’s Ken’s golf ball. From there we wonder maybe mine passed the back of the green. As I walk up near the flag stick I decide to take a peek into the hole. Unbelievable sight…my golf ball sits there waiting for me to take it out to celebrate. Thanks Ken for being there to witness this rare occasion and experience it with me. My first hole in one… I’m still in Cloud 9 and counting my lucky stars. :)
