  1. The 17th home is a short par three protected by a large pot bunker in front of the green, a false front, a large bunker on the right side of the green, and two more bunkers on the left.

    On this day in March, it was warmer, with a gusty wind out of the south (in your face). The pin was front right, a pace off the false front. From the silver tees, the shot was 118 yards.

    Considering the wind I hit an eight iron, which went high in the air at the pin. The wind took the ball even higher, and as it stated to come down, my first thought was it was going to be short, hit the false front and roll into the deep bunker. As the ball got closer to the ground, I knew it was going to be good - the ball then struck the cup and stayed in the hole. A slam dunk!
