It all started on hole 7, right before my hole in one. I took driver off the tee box and pulled it left and out of bounds on a 350 yd par 4. I was left with 212 yds to the pin and hit the perfect 4 iron leaving me with a 15 foot putt. Made the 2nd putt for bogey. Then came the tee box to hole 8. An elevated Tee box, narrow green with a front pin placement, water just left of the green. We ranged the pin at 210 yards playing 200. I instantly grabbed that 4 Iron. I was last to tee off. I placed my tee into the ground and the ball on top in the perfect place. I took 1 practice swing and said to everyone, “same club, same swing, same shot, just a different hole”. As the ball left the club I felt nothing , we watched my ball take a high arcing fade, coming left to right, directly over the pond. Everybody lost the ball in the sun. I looked away and as soon as I did, I heard a little smack. I paused and told everyone, “I think I heard it hit the stick (pin)”. We then drove down to the hole and a buddy ranged the green then said, “ I only see one ball in the green and we all know that’s mine”. We then all walked up together to see a divot on the green about a foot from the pin. I reached down and grabbed my ball out of the hole then froze for about 5 seconds in total shock. I then threw my hat down and we went crazy, my buddy picked me up and was gonna throw me in the pond but stopped, I then took two laps around the green, we finished hole 9 then had celebratory shots and drinks in the clubhouse before finishing the back 9, drinks were on me. My buddy Devon also holed out on hole 15 from 100 yards out that day too. What a crazy day.
