A bit late posting this as didn't know a HIO club existed. November 24th 2024 in a biblical storm Bert in plus 80 mph winds and rain. All other courses in the area closed. So decided to play St Davids links course. Hole 6 165 yd par 3 uphill to a blind double tiered green. 80 mph right to left sidewind. Had to hit my tee shot out over the course boundary to hopefully allow the wind to push it back towards the green. Saw the ball land on front edge of green and disappeared out of sight over the brow of the hill. I Walked up the hill with my playing partner who commented on what a nice shot in the crosswind. As we approached the green no ball visible on the green and I thought the ball might have gone in the front bunker. No ball in the bunker, I then started to look in a few rabbit holes and no ball in sight. My partner then looked at me and asked had I looked in the hole...... It was then my heart started racing and thoughts of, no it can't be. Walked up to the hole thinking omg surely not. My partner then started jumping about while I stood there in total shock with him hugging me and hollering out. Only 1 other person daft enough to be out on the course who looked over wondering what all the noise was about as 2 grown men are man hugging and high fiving in the middle of a biblical storm. Pro v1 X with miz 923 forged. Have kept the ball just really need to get it mounted now.
