Yearly golf trip to Florida is always great, this year was even more special. On 01-27-26 I carded a 2 on the par 5 first hole at Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation, Academy and Golf Club.
That particular day we were allowed to play a group of 6 because it was cold for Clearwater (59 degrees Lol). I managed to hit a fairway and left myself about 180 yards in. The shot went up and cut back towards the hole narrowly missing a tree. I saw it bounce twice before the crowned green, there I lost sight of it and started my walk. It took a while to locate everyone's shots as this hole is a bit narrow and everything left is no good. After we had everyone else accounted for by the green i started to look harder for mine long of the green. Couldn't find it there, next I looked right of the green to no avail. My buddy Mike hollered "Did you look in the hole?" I laughed at him and kept on looking, walking back long again. He went over and looked in the cup and asked me what I was playing. I told him Titleist 34 with a red dot. He pulled the pin and out came that 34 Titleist! He picked up the ball and said yep, 34 with a red dot. I am pretty sure that my feet never touched the ground the rest of the front nine. It made the day for sure.
I called in to talk with Titleist and ask about the Albatross/Double Eagle program that they have and was told it got discontinued for 2026. I asked what i could do to get that implemented again and was told this forum could help. So here I am posting my story. Titleist does so many great things for the game of golf. I hope they reconsider a memento such as the really cool display box they had for golfers lucky enough as myself. I would love to display that Titleist golf ball proudly. Albatrosses are a rare bird they should be included in recognition.
Respectfully,
