in August 2024 I set off to play in Ireland for the first time in my life. My buddy Kevin and I went a few days early to be ready to once the other 14 guys showed up. I told Kevin as we were flying over that I figured that we would see a hole in one as a few of players are scratch handicaps. We were staying in Northern Ireland for most of the trip and the first course we played once all 16 of were there was Ballyliffin Old Links. On the 7th hole my caddie tells me to hit to the left side of the green as everything sloped right. The hole is 174 yards and I used a 7 iron and once I hit it I said, dang I pulled it. My caddie was adamant that it was a good shot and I saw the ball rolling towards the pin but none of could see the flag from the tee box. So we walked up to the green, I walked to towards the 2 balls right of the pin but they were not mine, my friend Kevin looked in the hole and started screaming. I did not believe him but sure enough there was my ball in hole. My first trip to Ireland and my first hole in one at age 57!
