I had my first hole-in-one back in 2010 at my home course, Lakeside Golf Club, in Waseca, Minnesota. It truly seemed like I was never going to get another one and I was okay with that. I felt good about my game and just being around they guys because I had one and not everyone does (including a few of my friends). October 18th, 2025was a windy day and sunny, but was enjoyable none-the-less. I was playing okay, but really needed something to get the round moving a bit in the right direction. Nothing, nothing, nothing and then I stood up to the 9th tee leading off as the captain in Wolf. Into the wind, uphill Par 3, 183 yards I grabbed my 5-iron and prepared for the miss that I have on that hole often, which is to the left. Surprisingly it landed and rolled in like a putt. I was in shock and excited, at our club we get a keg to celebrate and pick the date of it. I picked Halloween because what better way to celebrate. It was another chilly day, but not as windy and off we went again. I'm not gonna lie, I was really just looking forward to some peppermint schnaaps hot chocolate. We were at Owatonna Country Club again and got to the 13th hole. Once again, the captain in wolf I was leading off, I hit an 8-iron at the 143 yd par 3 and it looked like it was close, but could kind of see the ball. I almost didn't go alone, but decided to after much convincing. As we are driving up to the hole my playing partner Sam started whooping as I was reaching to get beverages out of the cooler. I was asking what was going on-what was going on was the ball was in the hole and just a few dimples showing. Set the pin up straight and the ball hit the bottom. Two hole-in-ones in 13 days, what is going on here? I'm a 4 handicap so not a scrub but still can shoot 72 or 88 and this was amazing, but it gets better. Once again I get a keg and got it ordered for that Sunday November 2nd, 2025 as we were having a closing giant skins game. I set off with a few of my great buddies and enjoyed a great round. My playing partner Darren Zempel, who we call Z stepped up as the lead-off guy on 18, mind you he's never had a hole-in-one and was a might upset by the two I had in the last two weeks. 50+ years old he is and had been playing forever. Z was leaving for deer hunting a couple days later and it was going to be his last tee shot of the year on this 160 yard par 3. Up in the air and lands and rolls in the cup. Another Hole-in-one!! His first and fist pumps and fun was had by all. Not sure how many more I'll have or how many more I'll see, but I'll take that two week run and cherish it for the rest of my days!!!
