After three decades of playing golf, competing in several leagues, and coming close more times than I can count, I finally made my first hole-in-one!
This special moment happened on February 12, 2026 at Starfire Golf Course in Scottsdale, AZ on hole #4, where I’ve proudly played with the Shooting Stars League for the past 10 years.
What makes this ace even sweeter is that it was on an island green — a tricky one where it’s all too easy to watch your ball roll into the water.
I was the last to tee up. The shot was 67 yards. I used my 9-iron and a short tee to set up my Titleist Pro V1x. The ball landed, rolled… and rolled… and then an easy drop. The best part? We all saw it happen! (including the foursome behind us who had just pulled up to the tee box)
When I realized it went in, I was jumping up and down and shouting like a kid. Plus, it was a closest-to-the-pin proxy that day, so that was a slam dunk!
Not bad for a 67-year-old golfer — proof that patience, persistence, and the right ball pay off.
Proudly playing Titleist,
