156 yard Par 3 Hole 11 at Silver Rock Resort in LaQuinta, California. The scope showed the flag at 139 yards, I chose a PW and as I stood over the ball, the light wind in our face more than doubled. I felt good about the club I chose, but I knew I had to hit it solid into the wind. The hole is sloped from right to left, the runoff area leads to a desert hazard. The stroke was solid and I held my finish as I watched the ball head toward the green. I was distracted by a leaf blowing on the green when I was watching the ball come down, so I didn't see it go in. When we arrived at the green, I didn't see a ball, so I assumed that I had bounced into the hazard. I dropped a ball at the hazard and chipped to about 3 feet. When I walked up to my ball I found the Titleist Red #2 ProV1x with the stamp "SQUIRES" that I had originally hit off of the tee, sitting in the bottom of the cup. I was in shock! My wife and the rest of the group were going crazy! I can't wait for my next one!
