  1. You can't make this stuff up. Warming up on the range, my buddy Jason turns around and says "I had a dream last night of us celebrating on #3 tee box. Someone hit a hole in one. I don't remember who it was, but I remember us celebrating."

Well here comes #3...I hit a 175 yard 8-iron. Bounce, roll, in the hole. You would think this is the end of this story but think again.

The day before, we laid to rest an incredible friend, mentor, and coach to countless people in Eastern NC. Coach James "Rabbit" Fulghum. Rabbit and his son Jabo (My head baseball coach in high school, Rabbit was his assistant) always called me Wooter. Even though a lot of the time Rabbit called me, and everyone else "Shine" he still mixed in Wooter from time to time.

My sister gifted me a dozen custom "Wooter" Pro V's that I have had in my closet for years, I just never played them. As I grabbed my golf shoes out of my closet, I looked over and decided to snag a sleeve of Wooter balls to play in honor of Rabbit. I was also playing a brand new, never used, first-time-out set of irons.

As we were walking up to hole #4 tee box after all the excitement, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I said to my playing partners "Hey guys, you know how I hit an 8-iron? I bet you can't guess what jersey number Rabbit wore..." Of course, he wore #8. Every one of us got chills.

First hole in one, after a buddy on the driving range calls the exact hole, with the very first swing of a brand new 8-iron, which happened to be his jersey number, hitting the nickname ProV that has been sitting untouched FOR YEARS, the day after so many of us had to say goodbye on the very ball field that is named after him. You just can't make this stuff up!
