Very early round in the year and even fought off some rain. Heavy rain in Michigan had the river over flowing at Paint creek country club so we got sent off the back to start the round. Birdie the 10th hole to start and am feeling great. Hole 11 is a tough par three over water with trouble everywhere but the green. Honestly thin the tee shot but it’s a beeline right at the pin. The ball hits the rough in front of the green and slams the pin and drops. Whole group is in disbelief. We start hooting and hollering and the groups behind and in front go crazy as well. I’ll remember that 8 iron from 170 forever. Am currently an 8.3 handicap so I was very happy to finish with a 6 over 77 so the scorecard didn’t only look good because of the hole in 1.
