It was raining sideways that day my friends. I was playing St Andrew’s Beach on the Mornington Peninsula with the Ambulance Victoria Golf section.
I was playing arguably the worst round of golf in my life. Walking up the 13th fairway I was thinking about where I was going to sell my clubs.
I settled myself on the 16th tee box and was facing a 182m par 3. I thought “what the hell. I can’t hit anything today, I may as well hit my 3iron”.
I stood up to my ball and struck it beautifully. A nice high draw, it pitched just before the green, bounced a few times and then disappeared. It was in the hole!!!
We made such a ruckus on the tee box, the 4some in front ran to the hole, looked in, then back at us with thumbs raised high.
