  1. Me and my playing partner decided to tee off despite the awful weather. We managed to get through the first nine holes, mainly laughing at our stupidity to continue after the turn. The standard of golf was sub-par at best - the course record was going to survive another day.

The back nine got off to a flyer on the 10th, with a 2 on the signature 145yd par 3 - playing downhill, over 2 large trees protecting the green.

From here on, the rain didn’t stop coming down and it certainly wasn’t raining birdies. I was on the bogey train.

Teeing up to 14, I told my playing partner what I was looking to do (you know, in case it looked anything like a fluke) - a baby fade, off the left bunkers, and towards the pin at the right section of the green.

    185yd, playing 165, 8 iron in hand.

I called it. The shot came off. All the ball needed to do was check up and take the small hill into the hole…. And it did!!

Safe to say the remaining 4 holes i can’t remember. All that really mattered that day was that we chose to play, even though the weather was against us (and that I got the illustrious hole in one many golfers search their whole lives for).
