It was Father’s Day 2026. My husband and I had gone golfing after church with our daughter and her boyfriend. We were playing a four person scramble. From the ladies tees my daughter and I a 105 yards shot on the 8th hole at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in NC. We had to hit over the bunker due to the pin location, and we couldn’t see the hole. We knew that two of our four balls should have been on the green, and when we go up there we only saw one ball so we thought someone went long. My ball was the only ball we didn’t see, and the thought is in all of our minds, “What if it’s in the hole? It has to be!” My daughter’s boyfriend looked in the hole first, and his facial expression was priceless! My husband was elated, my daughter is running over to me with another priceless facial expression, and I’m speechless and can’t do anything but laugh and smile from ear to ear! It was a day we will all remember forever! My husband made my day when he said that it couldn’t have happened to a better person! I’m so thankful and blessed to be able to play this game that I love with the people that I love! What a way to celebrate Father’s Day with my husband and the father of our three amazing children!!
