I have been playing golf recreationally for almost 50 years and have never had a hole-in-one. Last Saturday, July 18, 2026, playing a 152-yard par 3, I hit a 7-iron that landed and rolled about 10 feet into the cup. I couldn't initially tell from the tee that the ball was in the hole, but when I got to the green, I saw that it had gone in (see pic). I've been close quite a lot over these many years of playing golf, and finally the golf gods smiled down on me.
