It looks like the 2020 Ryder Cup is being pushed to 2021. I'm not surprised by the rescheduling, but I am disappointed.

Seems "no fans" helped make the decision. At least we will get to see the Ryder Cup. Having worked as a marshal at the 1991 Ryder Cup, understand their desire to have the fans at the matches. They really get behind their teams.

I'm certainly disappointed, but after 9/11, it's returning to odd years, like it originally was. My assumption is that they'll push the President's Cup as well next year back to even years.

The official announcement apparently has not been made - or at least volunteers haven't been notified yet. As of news this week, I wouldn't place money on any tour events with crowds for the rest of this year. If there continues to be the slow trickle of players coming up positive, even events without crowds may be in jeopardy.

Not to mention locking down my local courses again. Heaven forbid.

I totally understand the decision but am bummed about it...Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup are my favorite TV golf events.

Disappointing but it would be a shame for it to not feel like a proper Ryder Cup so best to postpone.

2021 is going to be some year for sport though! Really looking forward to the Solheim Cup - I was at Gleneagles last year and it was tremendous.

Barry called it and now it's true. Not shocking and hopefully 2021 will be our year. I do question how the point system and picks will change...

I do not like saying this but I agree with the decision. I love the Ryder Cup my favourite tournament. Having the the Ryder Cup without spectators is sacrilegious, fans are major part of this event. Now let’s watch a great event in 2021. This has been an unbelievable year.
  10. Had the opportunity to be a volunteer this year but something told me not to sign up. Guess I know why now. Sure will miss it this year but hopefully it will be held next year with FANS!!!!

I am bummed about it being postponed but I think it was the right decision.

It's quite depressing to see the Ryder Cup postponed, but a Ryder Cup without fans isn't much of a Ryder Cup IMO... I'll look forward to 2021 to watch the boys in Red, White and Blue light it up in front of the home crowd.

Definitely think this was the right call. The Ryder Cup is different because the fans are partisan and they become such a big part of the prestige of the event. I can completely understand why they want to ensure that fans can be there.

I think all team sports are stuggling without massive crowds. The Ryder and President Cup should not be held without crowds. I was fortunate to attend the last President Cup down under at Royal Melbourne, and it has been one of the most memorable sporting events I have ever been.
