    How many will be coming to our lovely area for the PGA this coming week? The weather for the week looks like partly sunny days with temps in the high 70s to mid 80's. Should be a great golf week in Charleston. Plan on going down to Kiawah on Friday finding a nice grassy spot, relaxing and watching some incredible golf. Got a notice there will be no seating provided at the event. Some of you had the opportunity to play this great venue at the TT invite a few years ago. If you are looking for some great home cooking, stop by this great little place on your way back up to Highway 17 (Savannah Hwy); Stono Market & The Tomato Shed. 842 Main Road, Johns Island, South Carolina. 843-559-9999.

    I am fortunate enough to be heading down that way this weekend. Can't wait to see the Coean Course in all it's glory and thanks for the recommendation. I love the Charleston area and all it has to offer!

    They have lengthened the course to over 7800 yards, which is the longest on the tour this year. She will be a beast for the players with the winds coming in off the ocean. Most of the greens are raised and are not the softest. Friday will most likely be the windiest of the days with up to 15 mph in the mid afternoon. It will take a lot of focus and some awesome shots to win the PGA by the shore at Kiawah. Pete Dye softened it since the 1991 Ryder Cup because that event was very very hard course. The course is not really an easy course for fans to watch a tournament. Lots of sand dunes. If you find a nice flat spot, I would recommend setting up squatters rights, although, it is a beautiful course and worthy of exploring. Beware, there are copperheads, rattlesnakes and cottonmouths on the property and some very large alligators. Most of all, enjoy yourself. Half of the course runs by the Atlantic Ocean.
