Hey fellow TTers, do any you guys have insight into the Scotty Cameron Studio Design 1 putter? I play a Monterey right now and love the look of that studio design 1 and have an opportunity to pick one up for about $500. It's in great shape but I've heard feedback that you have to hit it perfectly for it to work the way a surgical stainless steel would work. Any insight to those using it and how easy it is to maintain ,as I heard water can't stay on the club head, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I've used a Scotty Cameron studio design 1.5 since 2004. I sent it back to Scotty last year to get refurbished and customised last year and it looks amazing. If you play on a course with sloping or fast greens you won't find a better putter the feel is fantastic.

You know that the SD 1 has a black pearl finish so you would have to be careful with it as the Custom Shop doesn't do black pearl anymore.

I own a Studio Design #1. I've had mine since 2001 I think. I've had issues aiming mine consistently so I'm either on or making nothing. It's looks amazing and feels great but I agree it can be tougher to hit the sweet spot consistently on the longer puts. As far taking care of it, baby oil works great after every few rounds. Keep the headcover on it throughout the round and you'll be fine.
