So with winter approaching I'm thinking of what I can do to improve my game for next year.  I have the opportunity to play a lot of golf next year and I want to make sure my body and my swing are in peak golfing shape.

I noticed there are several TPI certified trainers in the North Shore Boston area, and I was wondering if anyone on here's ever done it?

    Was it worth it?

    Did it help your game?

I have done it in North Carolina.  I did it last Feb.  I thought it was a great investment.  They really help and sit down with you and show you what areas of you need work, and how it hinders your golf swing.  I can tell when i do the exercises they give me consistently how much better and more fluid my swing is.  I think that it was very helpful.  They will show you exercises that you did not think about before, and also they will show you areas that you might have thought you needed to work and they are not as important as you thought.

Talk with the trainers and ask if they play golf and if they work with a golf pro in their area. They should have a solid understanding of the golf swing and what you are trying to achieve with your swing. The difference between a trainer and a TPI certified trainer is they should be able to tell you if there is a physical limitation in your body that is not allowing you to swing as well as you could. They should understand the sequencing of the swing and what needs to be stable or mobile for you to swing your best. You can then make a choice as to work around the limitation or to correct it.

Getting a TPI program is a great way to help your game. I had an evaluation earlier this summer, and had a stretching routine designed for me. After just a few days I was already seeing improvement in turn, balance, and timing. I noticed more swing improvement from this than any lesson or hours beating balls.

The website is also an invaluable resource for training videos and swing instruction.

Sounds good. I'm sure it'll give me something to do once the snow hits.
