  1. My first Titlist club, i got at goodwill.  It was a 975F.  I hit it pure as ***.   I am not a good golfer, but i hit it about 200-220 off the tee... Shoot about a 48 average on a 9 hole round (just telling my 'skill' level).  I hit it so well I ordered a 975j on ebay...  This was a few years ago.  I never used the 975j (it was the 60 something shaft one) because I couldnt hit it for crap.  I hit the 975F better so I use that as my driver.  I didnt like the J because of the shaft i think, and for some reason, i hit smaller club heads better.  Last week i got a 975D off ebay (supposedly stiffer shaft, which I agree with, and a smaller head).

I guess I am ignoring my question.  If i hit certain clubs great, is it due to the shaft?  Is there a way i can tell what shaft in on my club (975f)?  It is a steel shaft, and I assume it was the "factory" shaft.  My 975f btw is the 13.5 degree wedge.  Also, is it worth having clubs reshafted if you find one that works on ONE club that you like?  I dont want to overreact to one good club.  I received yesterday a cally 21 degree fairway wood/hybrid that i hit great too... until yesterday I thought my problem is that i counldnt hit titanium shafts... that has a titanium shaft and it is one of my best clubs (so far)

    Hi Anthony,

Thanks for the questions.  Quite honestly, it is a combination of shaft, head, length, etc. that makes a club perform a certain way.  It is tough to simply say a certain shaft will work well in all heads.

Best suggestion is to see a local fitter and find out what combination is right for you.

    Hope this helps,

    Bubba
