    Hey everyone,

We are less than 24 hours from the start of the Open Championship and I know I am ready to finally see the action start. From what I have seen it looks like Hoylake is going to be quite a bit softer this year Vs. 2006. But I am sure it will still prove to be a stern test.

The Open Championship is closely tied to the courses it is played on. Venues like St. Andrews, Muirfield and Carnoustie have become household names. I know my personal favorite is Carnoustie. With the extremely difficult 18th hole, no championship is safe until the final putt drops.

So what is your favorite Open Championship venue and why?

I look forward to hearing from everyone.

St. Andrews and the tradition that goes with it.  Love watching the Open when it's held at St. Andrews.  I really enjoy the layout, the bunkers and the bridge on 18.

It's definitely on my bucket list to play.

Muirfield  -  I love the track and this is where T. Wat won.

I think my favorite location for The Open is St. Andrews, just for the history of the game and everything that goes with it.  Probably my favorite memory from The Open at St. Andrews was JN's last championship nine years ago when he was walking up 18 and stopped on the bridge to waive at the crowd on his final round.  the crowd went wild cheering for him as he finished his round that day.  I heard that TW received a special exemption to play his 40th and final Open championship next year at St. Andrews and I'm sure it will be a similar scene for him.

I really like St. Andrews because of the tradition associated with it.  I also like Royal Liverpool because of tough layout, great finishing stretch and of course all the Beatles stuff.  I'm a Beatles fan (probably because that's all my Dad listened to) and I love my Yellow Subs cover.  Just an epic town and venue.

No doubt for me, St. Andrews.  One of my all-time favorite courses.

Having played the Old Course, Old Prestwick, Royal Troon, Turnberry Ailsa and Carnoustie I have to say that Royal Troon is my favorite to play but Carnoustie is my favorite to watch. It is a very penalizing course and pretty much anything can happen. It is interesting to watch the players manage a round on such a difficult course. I think that Turnberry ailsa is the easiest to play and it does provide some great, natural stadium viewing spots.

I'VE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO PLAY ST.ANDREWS,TURNBURY AILSA,TROON AND CARNOUSTIE. I THINK CARNOUSTIE IS THE TOUGHEST, IT NEVER LETS UP, WITH 18 BEING A BEAR. TROON TO ME IS THE MOST FUN WITH HEATHER AND GORSE EVERYWHERE I WENT. AILSA IS MAGNIFICENT SECOND EASIEST TO PLAY. ST.ANDREWS IS THE EASIEST AND EASILY THE MOST MEMORABLE. I LOVE THEM ALL. MY FAVORITE,,,,,,,,,CARNOUSTIE.

I would have to go with St. Andrews as well. It's because of the history associated with it, and the great finishing hole walking over the bridge.

I think all Open venues are special there is plenty of history in all of them. I have been very  lucky to play most of the courses. I will give them different status.

Most traditional is without a doubt St. Andrews,

Hardest course Royal St. Georges, brutally challenging, love it.

Demanding Carnustie. The 18th is an spectacular hole to finish. the double crossing burn makes it very strategic

Balanced course Muirfield, the wind changes from hole to hole making it very difficult to adjust

  11. For me it is The Home of Golf and as an avid fan of JN I remember the head to head with DS in 1970 and also with SO in 1978.

His head to head with SO in '78 was a classic lesson in out thinking your opposition

Hard not to vote for St. Andrews with all the history.  I enjoyed watching Hoylake this weekend and would much rather prefer to play it this year while the fairways are green versus the dry burned out fairways of 2006.  Would love to take one of the sanctioned tours and play as many as possible on one trip.  That would be unbelievable!!!!
