I'm currently a member at a club that cart only (walking is only allowed during the winter months) but thinking about switching clubs.  The new club is very walker friendly but you have to pay for their push carts (not allowed to use your own).  So that being said, I'm in the market for a new lightweight carry bag.  Currently have the Titleist Premium Stand bag from last year.  Any suggestions for something lighter?  OR do I just need to carry less crap in my bag :)

    Thanks,
    Bert

I am a big fan of the Staff Stand bag, as it has the flat bottom ability that is nice when using a cart.

I like that bag as well but worried about the weight.  Is it pretty light in comparison to the other stand bags?  I'm mostly going to carry.

I carry as often as I can (except on one League night) .  I Love my Titleist Dual Strap Carry/Stand Bag.  Its Lightweight, has tons of pockets and looks awesome.  The Dual Strap is comfortable and the weight distribution is great.  I would highly recommend.

I have the Sta Dry bag.  It is fantastic if I get caught in the rain, Keeps everything dry and it is lightweight.  Worth a look.

I'm also a fan of the Staff Stand Bag.  Yes it is a little heavier than the lightweight bags, about a pound.  But....if you don't carry a lot of extra junk in it, it is fine, and you can't beat the design.  I personally don't like the bags that anyone makes that have the "foot" at the bottom to push the legs out.  They always seem to break or have a problem, and the Staff bag doesn't have that.  The pockets are great and the top is big enough but not too big.  I use it on a push cart and carry it too on a very hilly course.  Got a buddy that has it too and he loves it.  He uses the dual straps it came with and says its very comfortable to carry.  I put a single strap on it (can't stand being wrapped up in 2 straps on any bag) and have no problem carrying it that way either.

    Hi Masa,

I'm a fan of carrying less stuff in the bag. A lot of times, the difference in weight between two empty bags is just a half pound, or 2 sleeve of balls, so I don't think the bag itself is the problem. Take an inventory of your bag and make sure everything in there is essential to the round you are about to play. If you play the course regularly, I'd guess you would only ever need 2 sleeve of balls max. The adjustment tool will also probably not be necessary along with those metal bag tags hanging off the towel loop. If you need to bring a water bottle, opt for the smaller ones and just refill them during the round.

But if you honestly need to spend money to save 1 pound The ultra lite bag works great for me and I have not had any trouble fitting everything I need in it. The only time I have problems with "grip sticking" is when its strapped vertically onto a cart.

I have had the Staff Stand bag for about six months and love it.  The dual straps and having them adjusted just right makes it an easy carry.  Even when I'm carrying rain gear it's still comfortable.  It took a few rounds to find the best balance with the straps but once I found the right strap "sweet spot" its been an easy carry.  I know the dilemma with choosing a carry bag, Titleist has a good variety and they all look good.
