My wife and I disagree on the answer to this question. I fell that you can NEVER have too many golf shirts in the rotation. She thinks that any more than 50 is excessive. I currently have about 80 FJ performance shirts in my rotation. During the warm months, it is not unusual to wear 2-3 a day.

There is no such thing as too many golf shirts! Dress well, feel well, and play well! Just don't wear another golf brand's shirt while playing #Titleist ! You can always rotate then around as we all have moods that certain things just don't fit or feel right on a particular day. That's a huge no-no for me! Hope your shirts include FootJoy, JLindeberg, Burberry, and UniQlo.

You have me beat, I'm at 22. But I purge every fall.

WOW!!! Lucky man. At last count I was up to 21.

Depends,
Is the closet all yours ? or shared? If yours alone, Can you close the door? if yes, then it's not full, buy more.
If shared, and you can't close the door, purge baby, purge.

I have roughly 25 shirts in the rotation right now. I'm of the opinion of others that you cannot have too many...As for old ones. once I wear them out, I usually dispose of them when my wife tells me that even though it is one of my favs, it has to go...

If they're FJ shirts, you can never have too many.

WOW 45?!? I thought I had too many at 10! You've gotta at least get five more and have the half ton mate!

You're good. When you run out of closet space you can start hanging them from top of the door moulding.

Is your closet full? If not not enough. I use 2 closets for my FJ shirts.
Don OMadison, WI
That's a big number. I'm near the low 20's in supply, but I wear 5-6 a week for work and TT ones only go to the course.

just did a count of mine the other week... 28 FJ shirts, 5 Peter Millar, 2 Adidas and a few others of other brands... definitely got carried away a little... LoL
Only one I would purge are the few non FJ and Peter Millar I have that I barely use.

I guess my question would be, what brand are they? IMHO, you can never have enough FJ shirts. If you had to purge any shirts, I would start with the non acushnet brands.

Well over 40 FJ polos and when new catalog drops, even more will arrive... I donate the ones that don't get much play!

If there FJ golf shirts, keep adding them up.. Only reason why i say that is b/c they will last forever compare to some of the other golf shirts i've own.. Told my wife, FJ golf shirts only for my birthday, anniversary, etc.. Anything else, keep the receipts and return them... I do get grief from the wife, "Why so many golf shirts", and i simply say "Why do you have so many shoes?".. End of discussions...
But to answer ya question, you can never have too many... Need the options right?
Todd T. does bring up a good point, donate the ones you don't wear anymore...
Cheers!

About 30 for me. Every 6 months or so , i'll get half a dozen shirts from my pro shop. Old ones that are serviceable are donated to our local hospice for folks less fortunate than myself. I also do the same with golf shorts and slacks.

Everyone has me beat. I do golf, backpacking, and fly fishing. All of my sporting equipment and clothes are either in an 8 foot wide closet, or in the car. I keep 10 golf shirts and pants, 10 backpacking ultra-light outfits, and 10 warm thermal fly fishing shirts and pants. For the past two years I've done more golf and less of the other activities. May phase out the backpacking and fly fishing as the streams and trails are just getting too crowded.

I have 23 for the warmer months and 8 of the long sleeve variety for the cooler weather, now that my 18 yr old is playing a lot of golf and is raiding my closet on occasion I am gonna have to step up my game, especially with the numbers you guys are putting out there.
I am glad I have this thread to show my wife so she can see I am not over doing it at all.
I agree with the person who said when you have more shirts than your wife has shoes, using that line of thinking I still have another 3 dozen golf shirts to buy.

Spookie, I was just having that very debate. As don't wear them for work, I have a social pile and a performance golf pile. The latter is over 35 at the moment. So I've decided that if that number is 20% greater than the average annual rounds played (AARP120) then it's time to consider purging (I will play more next season...so need a few extra of course). I will take the excess to the Salvation Army.

I don't think there is a right answer to this question. So many factors to include. How big is your closet? How much money can you spend? Are you single or married? Etc.
tdogg21Chambersburg, PA
I think the real answer depends on how often you wear them. For me, I hardly ever wear one to work. So they are only for golf and nights out with the wife. I don't know exactly how many I have, but I seem to wear the same few a lot more than the others. Also, I was looking in my closet the other day and realized I have quite a few towards the back that I haven't worn in at least a year or more. Since I'm always looking to add a few more each season, I'm going to purge some out to keep things even.
