Though I've had several opportunities and close calls, I've never been able to snag an eagle until today.

It was on a very short par 4 (250 yards). I used a 3-wood off the tee and sprayed it out to the right, but was pin high and my line was clear. I had about 35 yards left to the hole, but it was uphill and I didn't have a ton of green to work with. My lie was pretty good so I opted to use my 64* lob wedge and stop it close. The ball was on line the entire way, landed, hopped just past the hole, and spun back in! It was easily the best hole out I've ever had.

To make it even better, it was my first round of the year using my new ProV1s (wanted to make sure I was swinging decent before breaking those out). The only bad part about that is I decided some time ago that I would start keeping trophy balls when I achieved certain milestones. So, that particular ProV1 only made it through 7 holes of golf before I retired it lol.

    Congrats Richard!

I had a hole out a few weeks ago. One of the best things about getting an eagle is holding over your partners' heads the rest of the round.

"That was  great shot! I mean, it's no eagle, but not bad."

(yeah, I can be a jerk sometimes)

Lol. Sadly, I could only do so much bragging as my playing partner beat me by 1 stroke that day (I found a water hazard early in the round that cost me). Still, I'm sure I'll bring it up from time to time - "Hey, remember last time we were here and I made that awesome eagle while you were scrambling for par?" Ha ha

Congrats Richard. A real achievement. I'm lucky to get a bird so your new ProV1's must be doing the trick.

Congratulations - it must have looked awesome, watching your ProV fly, drop, and then backup before finding the bottom of the cup!  Wishes for many more to come!
