Houston Area PGA Teaching Pros

    One of my goals for the new year is to break down and get some quality instruction now that I am swinging the club well again.  Do any of you have any recommendations for good teaching pros in the Houston area?  I know Jim Phenecie and Neil Wilkins are quality coaches and may end up with one of the two.  I just don't want to overlook someone who might be better for my goals.

    Your selection is going to be dependent on where in Houston you are, or how far you're willing to go for lessons. If you live in Katy, you probably don't want to know that a terrific teaching pro is at Eagle Point, for example.  Another factor is going to be how much you're willing to spend per lesson/hour. 

    Here are a few that some of the Houston GolfWRX guys use/recommend:

    Eamonn Coghlan, Jersey Village

    Brian Smith, Swanson's

    Janean Murphy, Wilcat

    Eujone EJ Kim, The Woodlands

    Cole Smith, Massengale Academy, Augusta Pines

    Andrew Bruhn, Tomball Golf

    Check out a few and then decide based on how comfortable you are with the instructor and their teaching methods.

    So I found my guy after a good deal of research. Also, I am about to start work with a fantastic TPI certified trainer here in Houston. Time to get my old length back now! Look out 2016....things are about to get a whole lot better on the links!
