What is your personal best streak ? At least one birdie per round? Keeping your putting under 30 strokes? Mine is shooting in the 80's or less for 14 rounds. What stopped it? I shot an even 90 while playing with two guys I had never played with as partners although I knew them as club members. Both were nice guys but one had an iPod that wailed music in the background for all 18 holes and the other was constantly on his cell phone. I admit I was not playing my best but the constant distraction really kept me from concentrating. I thought about saying something but decided that I was just having one of those bad rounds that everyone has and not make it worse by saying anything. The good news ? I have started on a new record with 3 rounds in the 80's so far ...........

    Hey Carl,

Good personal bests. My most notable personal streak, and one that I am most proud of even though it is a bit unconventional is that I played 9 consecutive rounds of golf on 9 different and very challenging golf courses here in Virginia using the same golf ball. These courses were filled with water hazards and other obstacles like lush conditioning and narrow fairways where there was many opportunities to lose my golf ball. I used the same ball for each and every shot during this continuous streak. I have been unable to repeat this feat in the 7 years since I did this. I have shot a personal best score of 64 (8 under par) and once had a plus 4 handicap but I consider my 9 round same ball feat my most difficult, gratifying, although unconventional achievment, to say the least. Golf is certainly a challenging and rewarding game unlike any other is it not?

Great streak DV. I may play several rounds with the same ball but no way as many as you did. What is ironic when I do loose a ball which is usually in a water hazard, I may loose two or three more before the round is over. I get kidded a lot about the ball I play in our group games as it has been used for several rounds, may have a scruff mark or two and has lost that nice white shinny glow, but my Pro V1x balls are good until they are lost.

Wow, DV, very nice... & Carl good run!

I should have kept or took a picture on a log of rounds I had once ago. Between two courses I play, one rated 71.0/129 at 6,375 yards, par 71, and the other 71.1/125 6,629 yards, par 72: while this wasn't my lowest rounds, but good rounds for me, I had a running score of 81 within 6 consecutive rounds!

One other round I'd like to share was a 76 at the par 72 course I mentioned above. It's not so special that it's a 76, but it was special to me that I finished, par on 14 & 15, then birdies from 16 through 18. Since then, I don't remember having done that again. (but I'm still hopeful :-)

My best personnel streak was shooting in the 70's for 20 rounds.

The best streak I have ever had is when I had a solid 12 pars in a row in a qualifier tournament to get 3rd.
  8. Mine was making five birdies in a row. We had 4 and 5 man teams (about 20-25 players) that played a game 3 times a week. Well I didn't play very well on the front nine (42). So, on the 10th tee I gave my team a little pep talk and told them I wasn't giving up. Well I missed a short birdie putt (about 8 ft.) on No. 10 and No. 11 then came five birdies in a row. Back then I was probably playing with an 8-10 handicap. Normally made maybe 1 to 3 birdies a round.

Mine was having two potentially great rounds, opposite of each other. We have so many folks who want to play early at our Club, on weekends we double tee, off the front and the back. I went off the front and was on fire shooting a 31. Went to the back side feeling pretty good about myself and the career round, records etc. Followed up on the back with a 41. Did the same thing later in the week, going off the back side first and shooting the 31 over there. Yep. Came over the the front with the same attitude and shot another 41. Mental game? You think. I've shot 70 many, many times. NEVER into the 60's. Always coming down the last hole or two doing something stupid to screw it up.
