A couple weeks ago I reported my 3 wood was in moth balls. I have a new one and hit it better than the old one. My question is when teeing off do I have it the same height as my diver would be set up? Or how high do I tee it up.

  2. I would have it low..no where close to what I use with my driver...

    Good Luck!

right on, when I use a fairway metal off the tee, I am usually trying to get a more penetrating flight so lower is better.

Hey Dave N, Your 3 wood is not a driver. Why would you tee it up like a driver. Lower is better. Let the club do the rest. Good like with it. The new 915 F 3 wood has such a great face, the ball jumps off of it.

    Grindelwald,

The wood I tee up that half the ball is above the clubhead
The driver I tee up that a third of the ball is above the clubhead, so there should be a difference on the hight

Dave N; I've been used to lower tee- on the teeing grounds, I like that the ball is just touching the grass- much like when I tee up a ball on a par three using an iron or hybrid. With the tee, it's just slightly higher than when it lays on a fairway. The low tee allows me to have the same shot for both tee shot and fairway shot...I was just taught that way and it stuck with me.

I use a short tee and go with the quarter of the ball above the face of the three fairway, which I use more off the tee than the fairway. I like the low to mid height with a nice draw from the club. I prefer a hybrid off the fairway. Titleist clubs, of course for maximum performance.

I tee it just a bit higher than the tee grass.
  10. I tee my 3 wood about as high as I do my irons. This gives me a nice ball flight that is low enough to penetrate the wind but high enough that I still get 245-255 carry. Having it lower seems to help me control it a little bit better also.
