I went to a ball fitting today and got an evaluation scorecard.  It got me thinking.  It would be great to have some sort of game/scorecard/index tracker application in the forums.   Members could track their games and handicap right from the forum.  You could also possibly have added features to the normal tracker.  Things such as how your game/scores may change with different equipment, balls, etc.  Also, the handicap and scores could be part of your forum profile.

A long time ago, (just not in a galaxy far, far away), I was trying to learn the basics of Lotus 1-2-3. There, that shows my age to all of you who only know the modern program Excel.

Since a bunch of us learning it were golfers, we built a simple model that allowed us to post scores, calculate handicaps and record stats like fairways hit, greens hit, putts taken, sand saves... can't remember what else. It really wasn't more than a bunch of columns of figures with a divide by cell in the answer space.

Back then, handicaps weren't as complicated to do as now with slopes, etc. You simply calculated your average over par and subtracted one stroke from that. Instant handicap. The point is, other than a handicap program that uses slope calculations, the rest could be a simple Excel spread sheet.

I think it would be a good addition to the community.
