  1. I had posted a couple of weeks ago regarding what others pay in different parts of the country for greens fees and memberships. Haven't seen it come up yet. Is it not cool to talk about what we pay to play? I feel it is an issue in the game as far as making quality golf available to most players.

  2. I think that is a good question Gary. Here in Michigan to play a course of private quality ranges from 45-100+. I played Harbor Shores where they have played the senior tour was 85 in the fall after they had aerated the greens.

Lots of good golf courses in my area participate with GolfNow, and using their , I usually pay $25 - $35 per round with cart, and occasionally as low as $15. Normal rates on the same courses would be $65 - $90. Not always the preferred time I would choose, but for the price, I adjust.

  5. Average around here is 30 with a cart, central Illinois, TPC Deere run is between 65 ish and 105.00 depending on the time of day you play

Funny you mention Harbor Shores, I grew up in that area, although it was built after I moved away.

I live in the Atlanta metro area now. I'd say the average for a decent course is 50-70. Higher end courses tend to be closer to 100.
  8. Municipal courses in The Dallas Fort Worth area run anywhere from 39-69.

If we're talking public / semi-private (ie call and a make a tee time and you can play - no membership needed) prices range from about 30 to 75 dollars a round (riding). Most are right around 40-50. This is in Western NY (Rochester).

We have a TON of golf courses locally and quite a few VERY high end private clubs too (Oak Hill is just up the street from where I'm sitting right now). Lots of options for us at very reasonable rates.

  10. In the San Antonio area for muni courses the average is around $45, for better quality but still public $75. Not sure about private.

Better kept courses and resort locations run 75+, local courses tend to be in the 30+, and courses like Erin Hills, Whistling Straits, Blackwolf Run, and Sand Valley are $300+ in season. Most of the Madison, WI private courses are $7000+ and smaller private courses outside of the county run $2500 plus.

Here in Kansas, most public courses range between $25-$60 depending on where in Kansas you are playing. Flint Hills National is more around $100, Cottonwood Hills in around $65. Semi-private cost between $60-$100 but they also have memberships too. But that also depending on what part of Kansas you're in.

The prices around Boston range from $35 to $100. We have a wide righty of courses here.

  14. thanks for all the feed back. I'm in Central N.Y. in the Utica market. I'm a member at the Leatherstocking Course in Cooperstown and play all over to include the Truning Stone courses. We have a ton of reasonably priced courses, again, depending on conditioning. Looking forward to getting out on green grass and ripping some divits.
  15. I find that my posts take some time, and have had 1 or 2 that haven't posted, but that's ok. And as a college student, I'm always looking for deals, lol. Luckily, I work over at Ironwood Golf Course (5+ yrs now), and I save some penny walking that course. Been lucky to have Mrs. Garrison take care of me, and that's working for her is how I received my Titleist gear :)
