What would be your ultimate fourball be? Past, present or even fictitious. Mine would be:

Larry David (when he plays himself and Curb your enthusiasm) Jonny Drama (the character from Entourage) Tiger Woods

PM for the stories/ fun wagers, Justin Timberlake for the entertainment(Also a solid player) and DJ so I could watch a few bombs off the tee.

Bonus: At least one of those three will pick up the tab at the 19th hole right?!

Naturally the tab at the 19th is picked up by one of your fourball and I forgot to mention...the round is played at Augusta!

Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan.

Real four ball dream, would have been to be just a caddie, official, or up close spectator, ("inside the ropes"), for THE four ball match when Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson played Harvie Ward and Ken Venturi. As long as we're dreaming

  8. Can I take a the Lexi Thompson 4 stroke penalty for making it a five some? Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Arnold Palmer and Lee Trevino.

Arnold Palmer, Dwight Eisenhower, and my Uncle Paul that was my male role model growing up but I didn't take up golf until he passed (first person I knew with a "I'd rather be driving a Titleist" bumper sticker). Even at 67 there's so much they could still teach me.

Ben Hogan ... would just loved to have been in the presence of great shotmaking and ball striking! He practically invented the concept of course management.

Byron Nelson ... the finest gentleman to play the wonderful game of golf and a teacher and mentor to many of the games greats. He also is credited with developing the modern golf swing -- the swing in the "new" metal shaft era!

Lastly, it would probably be Nelson Mandela -- not sure if he ever learned the game, but it would be just nice to learn more from him and his strength of character and dealing with adversity.

Hey Dino...unfortunately, Nelson Mandela didn't ever take up the wonderful game of golf, he was a pretty mean boxer though. When I lived in South Africa, I was a member at his local golf club and always hoped he'd take up the game and come join us. I actually met him on a number of occasions, here's pic of us having a laugh with his grandkids. What an inspiration he was!

Hi Hacker ... thanks for sharing your experience and the photo! I didn't think that he would have had much opportunity to take up the game ... it would have been nice to see him on the links though as he could have introduced the sport to a whole new generation of South Africans and others too.
