    Hi, Team Titleist.

We wanted to share an emotional story with you. Titleist Brand Ambassador Morgan Hoffmann contributed an article to The Players’ Tribune this morning in which he announced that a little over a year ago he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy.

As you’ll read in his article, Morgan is facing this incurable disease with frankness, courage and hope. He nearly captured his first PGA Tour title at the 2017 Honda Classic (he finished T2 behind his former Oklahoma State teammate Rickie Fowler) and he's confident that a breakout win is just around the corner.

But as he confronts this challenge, Morgan’s focus is extending far beyond himself. He’s thinking of the children who will be diagnosed in the future and he's seeing this bad break as an opportunity to raise awareness about muscular dystrophy. In the future you’ll be hearing a lot from the soft-spoken 28-year-old as he embraces his role as a leading force to find a cure.

We’ve had the pleasure of spending time with Morgan, most recently back in late August, when he joined us for a tour of the Titleist Ball Plant 3 facility. As Team Titleist members Brian Donahue (far left in the photo above), Chris Hatem (left/center) and Rich Thurber (far right) will attest, you’ll never meet a warmer, more approachable and more likeable person anywhere. He’s truly someone you can feel good about rooting for, and we hope you’ll join us in doing just that.

Please respond to this thread and send along your thoughts and well-wishes to Morgan.  We’ll make sure he sees your comments and knows that everyone at Team Titleist is behind him.

    Rick,
Thank you for posting. Truly shocked but at the same time very encouraged when I see people like Morgan using their position in a positive way - to further the effort and raise awareness in the quest to find a cure. In the very short time we got to chat with Morgan during the BP3 tour, he was everything you said and more.

    Morgan,
Best of luck with your fight and thank you for leading the fight for others.

    Regards,
    Rich Thurber

What great attitude in this situation. I'll make sure to remember to smile anytime I say golf isn't fair. It's just a game. A bad day on the course beats....about anything else. Here's to Morgan hitting all the goals he sets.

Rick, thank you so very much for posting about this article and Morgan's approach to facing it. His story is one of the most uplifting, positive articles I have read in many years. I look forward to following his career on the Tour, as well as in other activities.

Came across his story on the Players Tribune after seeing it on twitter when Peter Uihlein re-tweeted his story. I was shocked and sad when I read it.

When I visited the Ball Plant back in August, I wasn't expecting to meet anyone. At the end of the tour we had heard Morgan Hoffman was there and there's a chance we could meet him. I'm not very good with meeting celebrities so didn't know what to expect. But meeting him was like being paired with a random golfer on the first tee and by the end of the round you're exchanging phone numbers to play with him again. He was just like any other guy. I think he was more interested in knowing us then us knowing him. I was blown away how down to earth this guy was. What Rick V. said about him is dead on.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Morgan and everyone fighting this disease. I agree with everyone on here that it's great for him to use his platform to raise more awareness on Muscular Dystrophy. I pray someday they'll be a cure.

Morgan, keep doing what you're doing and looking forward to seeing you get your first PGA win next year! God bless.
  18. Sending prayers for un-measurable courage and peace during this trial. From your article it sounds like you are making your life message one of hope and determination. Hope is not dictated by any outside force, it is your daily choice. Have faith that good will come of this. Trust that the grand plan is larger than ourselves, and that your love and courage will make a difference.
