    Went to work this morning at my course. At 4:30am, it was 82 degrees, real feel was 91. I was able to get out for 18 afterwards. On the 18th tee, it was 97 degrees, real feel 107!! I know we wait all winter for golf weather, but wow, it was hot!! Any TT members get out in the heat this weekend?? Just wondering. Play Well, Steve S.

    Played 18 Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Friday and Saturday being qualifying for Club Championships, so had be get out. Played earlier getting off by 730. A little harder for you when you have to work the Club all morning. We stay hydrated with water and gatorade, and in this heat (105 heat index up in the peoples republic of Massachusetts) we ride, and stay in the shade close to our ball until it's our turn to play, and play a little quicker, playing "ready golf". What else is there to do, stay home and watch it on TV and wish you were playing? Never

    Played yesterday and today here just north of Charlotte, North Carolina. Temps were in the low 90's heat index was around 100. Thunderstorm on Saturday did cool it off a little but humidity was twice as bad after sun came back out. I don't mind the heat, just bring plenty of water and Gatorade to stay hydrated. I also like to play during the winter as long as the temperature is above 40. Usually not too crowded on those days.

    The last week and a half has been really hot. Temps were high, but the extreme humidity was a killer. Played a couple times, but I've learned over the years to prepare. Hydrate well before going out (water...water...water) and continue hydrating during your round, wear light colored clothing, seek shade whenever possible and even though may may love to walk instead of taking a cart...ride. The most important thing is to know the signs of Heat Exhaustion & Heat Stroke and if you feel like the heat is too much, head in and cool down!!

    Played yesterday up in Maine and you would THINK it might be a little cooler up there and it wasn't. BUT I'm not going to complain, our golf season is short so any chance I get i'm gone! And I'll take this hot, humidity over a foot of snow any.day.of.the.week

    Played Sunday morning, 8:00 tee time and was dripping in sweat before the round began. Myself and one of my other foursome are dedicated walkers, but after 3 holes thought better of it and had a cart waiting for us on the 5th tee. A brilliant decision as it got hotter as the day went on!

    It was pretty hot here in PA, but I enjoy the heat. I love the extra carry and the extra bounce on the golf course it brings!

    Amen to that Speedy! I have never hurt from sweating. But the cold just makes my bones ache any more. Here's to a long Indian summer!!

    Hope you are going to get some the cold front currently moving into the Mid Atlantic. We stay cool in the Summer, but, this is pretty special for July.

    Here is central NC, I picked up a few of those "cooling" towels, no chemicals or freezer tricks, just those that you dunk in cold water and use evaporation to make the towel stay cooler than ambient, one of those on the back of the neck is a lifesaver when it's over 90F.

    Couple weeks ago before the proper heat wave hit I went out for an 8am tee time, it was only about 75F at 7:30am but so humid my iron heads were covered in condensation the moment they came out of the car.

    I thought San Diego was under the category of always 75 and sunny?

    Mostly close to that perfect 75 on the coast Amanda. We have a four-area micro-climate where all the weather is tracked by "coastal, inland, mountain, desert". Coastal doesn't get too far off but inland like where i am in Escondido will get in the upper 90's and even below freezing a few nights in the winter. We also get a few more bugs as the salt air of the ocean keeps them away from the coastal areas. Wish I had bought a home in the coastal region in the 1970's. It's going to take a winning loto ticket to get me there now.

    Hey Dale, once i get my trip fully figured out, perhaps we could get a round in together, i know the dates are dec. 7-15. Weather permitting.

    Might be a problem for me. Doing a cruise December 5-9 and our annual buddies trip to Bandon is December 12-17. December 10-11 will have to be in the office. Let me know of any other days you might be out this way.

    Yep, stay hydrated and i always go with light colored and loose fitting clothes. Usually add the bucket hat too.

    A couple weeks ago we played two rounds in a day down the lower desert, Indio, CA, and the temps got up to 114*. But as prepared as we were for it, we got through it no problem and had a lot of fun.

    I play a lot of summer golf in Palm Desert and really don't mind the extreme heat. It's a great way to play some quality courses at a reasonable rate. Eagle Falls is one of my favorites and they doing a really good job of keeping the course playable in the scorching summer months.

    Hey Allan, isn’t there a course out there called Desert Falls? I’m guessing two different courses perhaps?

    Two different courses. Highly highly highly suggest Eagle Falls though. I've played some elite clubs out there like Big Horn, Vintage, etc. and Eagle Falls is one of my favorites for the rate and experience. It's so tough to play tracks out there that aren't line by houses so Eagle Falls is a unique experience. That being said, don't get your hopes too high. My assessment is based on value as I think it's just as good as the $200+ public tracks in the desert area.

    For a change, here in Miami we're actually one of the cooler spots in the country. Except yesterday...

    I played 9 yesterday morning. It would have been hard to convince me it was only 88 degrees. The humidity made it feel like 110 and fool that I am, I still tried to play. In just 9 holes, I drank 2 large Powerades, ate a banana and kept my head and neck covered between shots with a cooling towel, yet I still felt like the humidity was squeezing me. It just made it impossible to concentrate and my game definitely showed it.

    As I've recovered from shoulder surgery nearly a year ago and just recently returned to playing 18 holes instead of just 9, I hate the thought of having to return to being a 9 hole golfer. At the same time, I can't deal with the thought of spending 18 holes in such brutal conditions.

    And like I said, there are a lot of you playing in much worse conditions, compared to what you are used to, than I am. i don't know how you do it.

    Normal for us in the Charleston and Myrtle Beach area in July and August. Temps in the 90's and humidity in the 60's driving the heat index to undesirable numbers. Light clothes, early tee times and lots of water. Heat index has been around 110* already and the big numbers come in August. The slight breeze off the ocean helps a little across the river from Charleston where we live. It is brutal around Lake Santee, about 45 minutes from here, a popular golf resort where there is very little breeze. Did not play in their annual invitational this year because of the heat wave. We moved here in 1984 from Memphis where it is worse. The heat index get dangerous there.

    Actually had a great day yesterday. It was 74 yesterday when we teed off and the temp got up to 86 in the afternoon. Thought autumn had arrived early. Had awesome day at the course after five lousy rounds in this heat wave over the past two weeks. Only five bogeys on the card for the day and the rest pars.

    It's been 2 months of extreme heat here in Fla. , never really get used to it.
