  1. I’ve been diagnosed with Stage IV esophageal cancer that has spread to my abdominal cavity and to my lymph nodes with a most recent discovery of a tumor on my adrenal gland.

I was given 6-8 months and have made it 16+ months so far.

I play competitive golf on the Golfweek Am Tour in Michigan and I coach High School golf so to say I live, eat and breath golf is an understatement.

I’ve bought new woods, hybrids, and wedges and just got fit for new irons.

I have some bucket list items like playing Pebble Beach, TPC Sawgrass (the tour experience) and a couple other great courses. I’m hoping to get a couple in if I can.

One big bucket list item is the Titleist events. I always seem to be too late to register as they fill up so fast so if anyone has any ideas on how to get on a waiting list for the next event please let me know!!!

    Thanks, Dan

What a touching story and I'm glad that you're still going strong. Since one of your bucket list items is Pebble Beach and if I had your name and address I would send you a little something from Pebble Beach.

Any idea how to send messages directly to members?
  8. Aloha Bruce,

Send me an email at laces_fire@yahoo.com and I would be willing to share my info with you. One of these days I hope to make it out to Pebble Beach. It’s pretty high on my bucket list!

    Thanks,
    Dan

Have you reached out to the Streamsong resort? I've heard at least 2 individuals who were on the waitlist get moved up to the attendee list. I would start there and see if you can get added to the waitlist. Lastly, check the Events page on the main page of the Team Titleist site for outings you can sign up for. I know the TT Invitational is the "Holy Grail" for many of us but there are regional events that can be as fun and rewarding.

Lastly, sorry to hear about your condition and I wish you all the best as you work on checking off that golf bucket list.
  10. Thanks for the advice and I will definitely look into both of those!
  11. As a recent update I received my new T100s irons last week and during my third round with these clubs I got my first ever hole-in-one after 46yrs. Story will be on the TT hole-in-one posts. Wow what feeling!

Way to go! I wonder if Titleist could use your HIO story for marketing purposes ;-)
  13. I’d be willing to share anything if anyone reaches out.

Congrats on your first Ace Dan!!
  15. I called Streamsong and unfortunately they have closed the waitlist. Thanks for the recommendation though as it was worth a try. I’ll keep trying anyway that I can. I just found out that my cancer has spread to my bones now so the uphill battle just got a lot bigger!

Talk about perspective. Hooks, chunks, triple bogies, missed 3 footers....they all upset us, and mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, when you read a post like that.Dan,I'm very sorry to hear your prognosis, and what you're going through.Your courage and fortitude is an inspiration to us all.

I know you'll scratch a couple things off your list and wouldn't be a bit surprised if Titleist stepped up and helped in that regard.

The link for my h-o-1 story. Thanks for all you replies. TT has the best posters there are!

I have the same bucket list courses as well, including St. Andrews, of course. Just keep trying is all I can say. I'm in the same boat. The "Experiences" are definitely the hot ticket for all TT Members for sure. It definitely pays to be on the waitlist if you can since the original sign ups usually come months in advance & people's schedules always change for whatever reason. Things always come up so people have to drop out. One of these times your name may be called.
I hope to see you at one of the next events in the future! So sorry to hear of your prognosis. Keep up the good fight! #CancerSucks
