Don't you keep it it the same top slot as your woods, instead of the bottom with your wedges.

I personally dont like bags with external putter tubes. I like the bags with a 14 way divided top.

Doesnt really matter what slot you keep it in, the putter is too short to reach the bottom of the bag,  and the "bottom of the Cameron headcover" gets smashed.

I've never had that problem with any of my Titleist bags, the Lightweight carry bag or the Premium bag.   In fact, the premium carry bag has a putter well/divider.   Or at least it used to.
