I feel that more and more golf pros are sponsoring golf equipment that is made specifically for them . That the clubs they use, you  and I are unable to buy because of the way they are manufactured to their specific needs(swing).

I feel that if a pro states that he is using a certain club,  it should be the same club that we could buy from our local pro or golf store.

    Just my opinion.

All the Titleist clubs on the market are the same ones that our pros use and endorse.  We don't have separate "tour" model heads, although we will build the occasional club (such as an AP2 2 iron) in a limited quantity (5-10) for them to use.

That's what I like about Titleist.  The club heads are pretty much the same from what I know.  Now, with club fittings and with the new 910 models, you can get custom fit just like a TOUR pro.  Maybe not as much pampering, attention and shaft options as a pro, but it's better than grabbing a set off the rack and trying to figure out how to hit them on the course.

Remember when the racing rules required at least 500 of a car to be built before it could be considered a "stock car".  this resulted in limited edition (500) corvettes and cobras being made available to the public with something like 600 hp in the '60s (IIRC).

Make the same rule for golf and we'll all be forking up big bucks for the limited edition tour putters and clubs...

Hence the introduction of the 910 Drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids, as well as Titleists' commitment to their "Green Grass" Professionals who provide expert club fitting and model advice for irons, wedges, and putters.  About the only thing that the consumer can not get their hands on are the Circle T putters which, although awesome, are no more technologically advanced than the ones available to the public.  And if you REALLY want one, pony up on E-Bay to the tune of 2 G.  I would have agreed with your statement a year ago, although most of the equipment you talk of, would have been woods bent specifically to the player, but with the advent of the 910 series, you really have no ground to stand on.

I would agree to certain extent, but I purchased a set of AP2 irons and they were adjusted for my specific swing by Titleist. This is the same thing that several Pros have done when they are fitted for clubs. They may get a little more attention and things fine tuned more often, but that is their livelyhood and more power to them. I, personally, would like to have my clubs always checked for minor tweaks to aid my game, but I am very happy with my selection. I do know that I can get my clubs checked this summer at one of the Demo Days by Titleist and that is more than I can ask for.
