Your true handicap is based on 20 rounds. Your 10 best to par are then picked up against par to determine your true handicap. You can have GHIN keep this for you, you will just need to register with a local country club that has a relationship with GHIN. I believe it is a $20 fee for the year.

I use GHIN my self becouse for any Tournimate that uses a handie cap system most want to use an established system. but yes there are many free services out there.
