RIP shaft vs Project X

  1. I was curious if the RIP shaft or the Project X shafts are comparable as far as quality is concerned. I just came from a fitting and I was put into a project x shaft but really loved the asthetics of the RIP shaft. I was fitted for a 910 D3 driver. The stats from my swing pointed to the project x shaft, but I am not sure if my inconsistent swing is good enough to warrant one shaft from another.

I liked the RIP shaft better but hit better with the project X.....any help would be appreciated. Shoould I switch to the RIP?  The fitter and the club pro said the project x is the better shaft.

Gotta go with performance on this one!

When I was testing out the D3 at golf galaxy I hit the RIP but didn't like the feel of it. Like the color and texture but didn't seem to hit very many quality shots. I have ended up going with the projectX 6.0 and have only played one round but never missed the fairway. The course is real short (5 par 4s are right at 300) and I was just off the green directly right on several. I just hope it wasn't a one time fluke
  4. Not dogging RIP at all but numerous people who received fitting came in with the notion of getting the RIP and the pattern was just on there  Project X has hit a home run though. Ah the beauty of being fitted!

You bring up an interesting point.  Aesthetics vs Performance.  I know when buying and showing friends your gear you want it to be visually just right, however once you are actually on the course it really is not an issue.

I really can't tell you what shaft, paint fill etc a playing partner has once the peg goes into the ground.

At the end of the round I would rather like the way the score card looks than the color of the shaft.

    Cheers and Enjoy!

  6. i liked the performance as well but it wasnt as good as the project x shaft according to trackman.....asthetics are important to me since it give me one less thing to distract me :)

I ordered the extra shaft from titleist just so I can have both
