I hope Tiger gets healthy and Rory can get this going so we can see some awesome battles for the future. That was an awesome 4 days to see a glimpse of what he can do. Hopefully he plays more in the States and not just majors.

After seeing Rory these last four days - actually these last few years -  I would bet on him to beat TW anytime.  Rory hits fairways and greens - that is a HUGE advantage right away.  Plus, he is much more even keeled than TW - another huge advantage.

TW or no TW, Rory is going to win many majors in his life.

Rory just has raw natural talent. He will go as far as he wants in this game its a matter of motivation. Golf is all rory has known. my only concern is that he dosent get burned out like sergio did. I wish him all the best and on a great and long carrier. I'm a huge fan of this new generation of golfers on the tour.

    Hey John,

I don't know that Sergio got burned out - I think missing that short putt to win the British Open (was it in 2007) really knocked the wind out of him, but he is clearly coming back and strong - he had a great US Open this year.

Plus, McIlroy is a different person - he is a true golf professional, and has motivation and determination to spare, in my opinion, judging from what has been written about him and from what he says.

He could hypothetically go on to break Jack's record as he is already ahead of him by a few months.

    Cheers,

    Jason

CONGRATS RORY, YOU'LL A GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR YOUNG GOLFERS. I HOPE THE US TOUR DOESN'T DO THE SAME THING TO RORY AS THEY DID TO SEVE!! HOLD HIM BACK FROM PLAYING IN THE USA. THIS IS JUST A START OF TITLEISTS YOUNG GUNS DOMINATING THE MAJORS!!! I'LL HAVE FUN WATCHING IT.

Massive congratulations to Rory Mcilroy. Now realizing the talent he really has. Many more to come i hope. Just for the record though, Rory plays in the middle East, on the european tour of course, but also his schedule for this year includes the Accenture match play at Ritz Carlton, Dove Mountain, The Honda Classic in Florida, The Cadillac championship at Doral FL, Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow, The Memorial at Muirfield Village. The Bridgestone invitational at Firestone, not to mention the 3 majors in the US of course, so think its a bit unfair to say Rory only plays in the US at the 3 majors there. For what its worth, it would be nice to see more Americans coming over to Europe to play, now its obviously a more worldwide game, and not just coming to The Open championship, as has been the case in the past from many Americans.

I'm going to say it: "2011 Congressional Rory would have beaten 2000 Pebble Tiger"

josh, i'd say congressional is 3 maybe 4 shots harder than pebble beach. lets look at it this way, you got a old style open course vs a resort that has maybe 4 or 5 good holes 6 thru 10? just because a lot of power people own pebble that doesn't make it a open course. oakland hills, oakmont, olympic course, wing foot, merion, pinehurst, riveria, shnnicock, these are open courses!! look at the courses the tiger won his majors on and how many of them were at these, the british open courses are the same setup. st andrews is another resort but who will down play it worth!! do you agree

Hi Leroy Having read your comments about Tiger i feel i must reply. Firstly, may I say that I am certainly not a fan of Tiger in the slightest, however, whilst I totally see what I think you are tryin to say about Tiger winning on resort type courses, rather than the "Old" Type courses and i kinda agree in some ways, but having said that, Tiger has also won Majors at Augusta, Southern Hills, Medinah, Valhalla and Bethpage Black. All of which are pretty "Old style" courses I think. And whilst I agree that when the weather is fair at St Andrews, the "Old lady" cannot bear her teeth, and could be considered as one of the slightly easier Open Championship venues, I doubt whether the R and A would consider it a resort course, considering she has been there in one form or another for over 450 years! Having played The Old Course at St Andrews, Royal St Georges, Turnberry, Royal Troon, Birkdale and Royal Liverpool, and Prestwick, they are all very different in character, when he won at Royal Liverpool in 2006, and having played Royal Liverpool myself, his achievement at that "Old" course was nothing short of astounding, as Hoylake can be viciously unforgiving in my own sad experience. Lol. Don't get me wrong, i totally understand what you are trying to say i think, and agree to an extent with regards to the Old course at St Andrews, apart from its "resort" nature, but his wins around there could just be due to the fact he simply likes the course and it suits his eye. As a golfer i'm sure you agree there are golf courses that suit your own eye better than others. Its not because they are neccessarily easier to play, they just suit your eye better. And as i said, there are some good examples of Older style courses there, that Tiger has won majors on too, Medinah, Valhalla, Bethpage Black, and Hoylake to name a few. I don't want to start an argument about Tiger here, as i am not a massive fan myself, just wanted to stand up for the Older style courses he has won majors on. No offence meant. Regards Jason

What a talent, I hope he stays grounded so we have a young gun to follow for years to come.
