Old Silo in Mt. Sterling Ky, as golf courses go, is a fairly recent course, 10-15yrs old. When first built it was hoped to get a senior tour event.

Yesterday my course had a scramble, so I decided to go to Old Silo. On-line tee times there was an opening for 8:40 and I took it, going to play with 3 people I have never met.

The course having gone thru all the storms my course has also gone thru, the bunkers weren't in great shape, they were no worse than you might expect after several storms.

The fairways and rough were great, the greens weren't perfect but they were pretty good. The day was nice, got a little hot but not like I played in this weekend.

The company topped off the round for one of my most enjoyable rounds ever. With varying ages and skill levels these guys were a joy to play with. I can only hope they enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed theirs.

From the start they said they were hoping to break 100,90, and 80. I was in the cart with the guy hoping to break 100. Some may think this is a bad thing, it wasn't. We had a good time and he was the type of person you felt like you knew for a long time. He didn't get mad or act like he expected better shots than he hit.

My game, I had no trouble getting to or around the greens, had no trouble with short game, I couldn't putt. I don't know how many short putts I missed, 3 putted several times. Shot 84, best I've done at Old Silo. I came home so happy, after a good round, on a nice course, on a beautiful day, with great company.
