My wife and I are going Hilton Head, SC in October. It is a golfing vacation and I am very excited about going but I am MORE excited because she is coming. I will be playing in the Golfweek Amateur Tour National Championships and we have a tee time at Harbour Town. I look at it as a once in in a lifetime trip. Any comments or suggestions of things to do when we get there?

I used to live on Hilton Head---just sold my home there last year. The island is full of great places to eat/drink/have fun. I like the new pub opened by Darren Clarke, Nicks Steak & Seafood, Red Fish, Go Fish, Hudsons (perfect for oysters and their shrimp po-boy is MONEY). Sea Pines and HT are great for just hanging out. Take a dinner or dolphin cruise on the Vagabond---great people.

I went there several years ago and really liked the whole atmosphere. Great golf and wonderful food. Have fun and soak it all in!!
  4. Start out by stopping at Stu's Surfside Subs for lunch, and have one of the best subs in your life. After that walk next door to the Frosty Frog and get a daiquiri to sip on the beach (start out with a small, they're like 150 proof, not exaggerating). Then have dinner at Red Fish.

Joey: Do not forget to visit the "Barmuda triangle" which is a local hangout at the entrance to Sea Pines. Great place to relax in the evenings. Reilly's Bar and Grill has some great eats and your can eat inside or out. We spent a few evenings there when we were there working the RBC Heritage in April. Might want to check out the Salty Dog Café at the South Beach Marina. Another casual place to relax.

You'll love Harbour Town. A true shotmakers course. "Stop and smell the roses" all the way and enjoy. The 17th, par 3, depending on the wind off the Sound, can be anywhere from a 7 iron to a 3 iron. Haven't been there in a few years now, but always loved it every year. Enjoy

Guiseppi's Pizza in Sea Pines is a very good casual pizza and pasta restaurant and it is less than a mile from Harbour Town. Sunset at the lighthouse in Harbour Town is pretty amazing as well.

If you have a rent car, do a side trip to Savannah. See the squares and the riverwalk. Even better to do the walking ghost tour one night.
