  1. As my buddies are looking to plan a trip to Bandon Dunes in March... I wanted to reach out to any TT members that have already been there.

How many days did you spend there? How many rounds per day/total did you play there? Do you have any specific recommendations? What type of caddie service did you use?

    Cheers!

    Robert,
I went with a group of 8 in March 2016, we stayed off property arrived last Wed night and left Monday morning. We originally were going to play 36,36,18. But the weather changed that.We didn't take caddies, as most in our group like to think their own way around the course, but i've heard nothing but good things about the caddies there. We played 18 the first day and played shorty's after the weather changed up a bit. The best thing about Bandon is that they will give you a gift card if you don't want to brave the weather prior to teeing off. It will all depend on how much golf your group can handle. We broke it up a bit and only ended up playing 36 one day. We also skipped Bandon (it was hailing right before we teed off) played Trails twice, Pacific and Old Mac. We also played the Preserve as a 8-some. We added the Punchbowl after one of our rounds and it was a blast.

    Hope this helps

    Ethan.

was there in early August. Arrived Tuesday and played the Par 3 course. We all played 36 on Wednesday, most played 18 on Thursday (2 played 36), all played 36 on Friday and we played 18 on Saturday morning. We had the same caddies the entire trip and they were awesome. We had Pat, Sasha, Aaron (aka Blue), and forget the 4th. Be ready to walk as all courses are walking only.

The views on all courses are extraordinary, and Pacific Dunes is even better. Feel free to reach out for more info.

I have always (4 times, 2 more scheduled) gone in December - February so weather and short days make it nearly impossible to play 36 each day. I usually do five nights and four rounds as all four courses are great and each one has it's own style. I used a caddie the first year on Pacific but usually play without one. If the weather is good, I carry my clubs. If it's raining, I use their $5 pull carts that seem to make it easier to stay dry and organized. If you fly into Portland, it will take most of the first day driving into Bandon. Just hit the range that afternoon and start your rounds the following day. Same is true for the last round. It's tough to play and then get back to Portland for a late flight out. Best to stay that night and head back the next morning.
